Rain does not have to stop play!

Whilst it’s safe to say that the English Riviera has a climate to rival the Mediterranean, we are a top British seaside resort and so may be susceptible to the odd rain shower!

Should there be a rainy day or two during your stay may we suggest some of the things you could do that will not be ruined by bad weather.

Indoor fun can be had at Kents Cavern prehistoric caves, the replica Victorian street at Bygones and the fascinating galleries at Torquay Museum.

Torre Abbey historic house has recently undergone a major restoration programme and is within easy walking distance.

At the Riviera Centre, a large indoor leisure pool, complete with waves and flume slide, means that you can still get your swimsuit wet.

For the children there is the Play Cafe, a large indoor play centre with a licensed café for the parents and the Dinosaur World exciting indoor exhibition.

A little further afield is the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth’s historic Barbican harbour side area.

Great things to fill up any rainy days.

Retail Therapy (Shopping)

Not only limited to rainy days shopping is a holiday essential and the English Riviera is packed with independent stores and high street chains.

Torquay town centre has the Fleet Walk Shopping Centre with a host of shopping and leisure outlets.

Brixham;s Fore Street and Harbourside have a wealth of unique local arts and craft shops full of artisan gifts, art pieces and craftsman produced jewellery items perfect for that holiday souvenir or gift for you to take home..
